6th Gosport is one of the largest groups in Gosport, supporting over 100 children across the 4 sections, and growing continuously. This is achieved by the amazing team of volunteers dedicated to ensuring that the young people of Gosport get the best possible Scouting experience possible.
We achieve this with #Team6th at the heart of everything we do. Although we all have our own roles and areas of responsibility the focus is always on working as a team for that common goal.
To assist with this we are looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers to join the team and help us build the group and team, and help deliver #SkillsForLife to even more of the young people of Gosport.

The Chair will lead the Executive Committee, ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities within the Group, District or County/Area/Region. The Chair will work closely with the Group Scout Leader/ relevant Commissioner to achieve the purpose of The Scout Association through the development of local Scouting, in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.

The Treasurer will provide sound financial administration, support and information to the Executive Committee and Group, District or County/Area/Region in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.
The Secretary will support the Chair of the Executive Committee to ensure the smooth functioning and sound administration of the Scout Group, District or County/Area/Region in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.

Join the team and help with organising and running fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events. You will also assist with attending events and help raising our profile in and around Gosport and surrounding areas.
Play an important part in helping the committee provide good scouting for our young people. Be the voice of your Section parents at executive meetings. Offer opinions and advice on topics that affect the Group. Help the Group develop as it grows.

Supporting meetings, programme planning and the of running activities or games. Empowering young people to learn new skills, make new friends and learn to stand on their own two feet. No two weeks are the same, but the impact you make is always great.
Support the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants, Young Leaders and members of Scout Active Support as appropriate. Some of the tasks for which the Assistant Section Leader is responsible may be delegated to others in the Section, including other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders and Section Assistants.
